What is a photography client gallery?

The short answer: a private, branded web page where a photographer delivers a real shoot to a real client -- to view, favorite, download, and sometimes buy prints or extra digitals.

What it replaces

Before client-gallery software existed, delivery usually meant a shared cloud-storage folder, a USB drive, or a batch of email attachments. None of those let a photographer control who sees the work, protect previews from being used before they're paid for, or sell anything directly from the delivery itself.

What a real one actually does

• Delivers the shoot -- clients view their real photos on a page carrying the photographer's own branding, not a generic file-sharing tool.
• Controls access -- a password, a required email, or both, so only the intended client sees the gallery.
• Protects the work -- watermarks and preview protection until a photo is actually downloaded or purchased.
• Sells, if the photographer wants to -- digital downloads and prints, priced and sold directly from the gallery, with the money going straight to the photographer.
• Lets clients act -- favoriting, downloading, and buying, all without creating an account of their own.
